Little Girl, Arise

"Little girl, arise."
I poured over the words written in red.
These words He once spoke over a little girl who was dead.
They burned in my heart and I read them again,
Something happened inside me, I realized, just then...

I was the little girl who laid dead in her room,
My innocence gone—it had faded too soon,
The wonder of childhood dulled into grey,
The cares of the world locked my freedom away,
Scars made me self conscious, insecure and ashamed.

I felt dead and empty.
That's when He came...

He entered my room, passing cynical eyes,
He grabbed my hand firmly and said,
"Little girl, arise!"
"Come out of your sleep, come out of your shame.
No more unworthiness, you're free by My Name.
Arise, little girl. Come alive with my touch,
Cast off your old self, it has held you back from so much,
Be a woman who is strong, who is fearless and free,
Be the woman whom I created you to be.
Arise, little girl, to the awe and the wonder,
Come out, little girl, from the rock you've been under.
Arise, little girl, be freed from your cage,
Of perfection, of insecurity, of performance and stage,
Of shame, of hurt from stains of the past,
Of not enough, of too much, of being picked last,
Of fear, of failure, of needing to please,
Arise, little girl, get up off your knees.
Wipe your face, little girl, I'm here, can't you see?
You were never alone, you were always with Me.
I will never leave you, I will never forsake you,
Arise, little girl, I have places to take you!
Walk in My strength, walk in My power,
Walk in My presence, arise now, this hour!
Step into your place, all are waiting to see,
The woman arise from this little girl I've set free.
So many people are waiting for you,
There's so many things I have called you to do.
Arise, little girl, awake from your sleep,
Arise, little girl, deep calls to deep.
And way upon way,
And day after day,
I'll reveal every step,
In My presence—please stay.
Arise, little girl, run fearless and free,
Arise, little girl, live life fully in Me."

And I am changed in His presence,
My life is defined.
Every moment in His presence, where Earth and Heaven entwine,
They meet for a moment, I catch a quick glimpse,
Of Heaven coming down meeting Earth in a kiss,
A peek through the veil of what tomorrow holds,
A glimpse of the wonders yet to be told.
He melts me and molds me again and again,
To be more like Him and to carry His plan.
He calls me to be more than the little girl I see,
He tells me to trust Him and step out—
Where He always meets me.
Out in the waves, past the safety of land,
Stepping out of the boat He takes my hand,
And we walk and we dance on the water together,
In the midst of the storms, regardless of weather.
He is my Father, I'm his little girl.
Arising to carry His promise to this world.

And so are you.
So, arise, little girl. ❤️
